Congratulations on 7 days! My big hump was days 3-5, so I hope the anxiety will get less for you from here on out.
Some suggestions from my experience:
I'm sure you'll get tons of other suggestions.
Some suggestions from my experience:
- drink lots of water
- running
- 1 spoonful of high-fat ice cream at the onset of a bad craving
- lukewarm/cool showers
- throw out or avoid all your 'paraphrenalia' - glasses, the route that takes you past your normal pub, etc
- SR: Post, post, post!
I'm sure you'll get tons of other suggestions.

I made sure I ate regularly , every 2-3 hours. When I got cravings I ate hard candy/sweets and I tried to sleep/nap when possible.
Every morning before I got out of bed, I made another 24hr commitment to myself, to not drink. Just 1 day, don't drink.
Post and read daily on SR , always someone around for help and support here.
Congrats on 7 days.

Congrats on 7 days.
I got thru it one day at a time, with the help from AA meetings and the new friends I made there. Going out for dinner afterwards with some of the guys there was really helpful. If nothing else, I had a good meal and I got thru another few hours doing something else besides "just don't drink".
Congrats on 7 days. I hope the anxiety passes quickly. Just keep moving forward, one day at a time. And if that’s too much, try one minute at a time- I had to go minute by minute quite often in my first couple days.
