I’m such a cliche...

Joined here recently, sober since 01/01. I read about your AV and what it can do. Until this morning I had heard nothing from it, then...
I get a message inviting me to a festival, immediately I think ok, no problem, one day couldn’t hurt.... then I start to worry, one day after many sober, that could be tricky I’d best start drinking before, get into practice... OMG
Thanks to your advice here I know this is my AV. Now drinking tea to relax, if I do go it’ll be sober.

Eh, you're not a cliche. Your mind is just used to a certain way of doing things and it takes a while for it to readjust. Good on you for staying strong and recognizing what was happening. Keep at it!

Good job!

Recognizing your AV and telling it to hush up is awesome. It'll keep you sober and from venturing down that "eh, one day won't hurt" path. It never ends well.
