4 wks sober

4 weeks sober. I would think it would be easier. Im use to stopping on my way home grabbing a bottle. People i work witg 6 days a week for the past 4 months dont understand how hard it is for me to go out and not have a drink. I trust myself to go to the store and not buy a bottle but i do not trust myself to go out socially and not have a drink so i will not put my self in that position. My hubby and i went out for the first time in 5 years and did not order a drink. Baby steps. I had another dream and it always messes me up for a few days. One day at a time

It is one day at a time. Count your small victories, and don't worry about whether your coworkers understand.

Most people in America actually don't go out and party with coworkers after work. Most people have family, children, lives outside of work.

Good luck with sobriety buddy!
The new sobre you will be able to count the cash that is not being flushed down the toilet and the extra quality of life that you will achieve.

Someone said to me put the money you would have spent in a safe place and when you get to a tuff spot take some out and buy yourself something that you really want and will use or wear that way every time you look at it you are reminded by this treat some of what you have to show for sobriety.

Congrats on 4 weeks and making it through an event without drinking - now that you've done it once you know it can be done. Not suggesting you go out every night, but for me it was building "sober muscles" to keep my commitment when faced with temptation. Just keep in mind that the longer you abstain, the less intense the cravings become, so next time you will have even more time in between and it will much easier. Keep it up and stay close to SR!

Congrats on 4wks sober!
I'm on week 3 myself and the cravings are just now starting to subside a bit.
I've bought a few books to help pass the time on the weekends until the weather breaks and can get outside
