DAMN IT! .....My friend came round with some chocolate because I have the flu so I ate a bit, suddenly it tasted WEIRD.....it was rum and raisin!

Ughhh it tasted like puke, for real it was just vile!....he could have used some common sense

I too have been down with a cold,
but don't think it is the flu. Just conjestion
and cough. How about you Chill?

Was this candy home made?

Don't know of any candy with rum
in it. At least I'm not familiar with it.

Getting into a habit of checking just
about everything first before eating
or drinking them insures we remain
sober or clean. Right?

Aaaaack! I did that once with a chocolate ball, husband bought 2 kinds, one was rum I immediately spit it out

Of course there is candy with booze in it. Hard to believe that some people have never heard of "rum balls". Did this friend know you are in recovery ???

Oh yeah, Rum balls.....made them for
my mom when i was young. I remember
rolling them in powdered sugar.

Sure, they did tasted good as I recall.

However, it's all poison today.

He knows I'm in recovery, it wasn't homemade, I'm guessing it was an innocent mistake on his part......I really should have checked the ingredients, I just didn't even think, looked like normal chocolate.

Good news is, I thought it tasted VILE!

Personally was never a fan of the chocolate/booze combo (thank god).
I am hoping it was just an error on his part...some people probably think that candy doesn't count.

Knew of hubby's uncle who was a recovering alcoholic and had some rumballs at a Christmas party years ago & fell off the wagon thereafter.

I'm fairly cautious about what I eat/drink - a lot of things are non alc rum essence, but if the taste triggers you, thats fair enough.

Never liked rum balls to be honest...even when I was drinking. Just the mere thought of them make me want to not drink more

I just don't even wanna taste it at all....I'm like 7 n a half months sober and I really don't even want the taste or smell anywhere near me.

Nothing has tasted good since i got
sick. A few days ago i decided to open
a can of diet cherry Dr. Pepper for
something fizzy to taste and with one
small sip, i nearly lost it. It was soooo
nasty or something. So, down the drain
it went.

I'm not really sure if the taste was because
I'm sick, or if it was an old can i had in the
refrigerator for awhile. Anyway, i have no
desire to drink Dr. Pepper anytime soon,
even if its a fresh can. Yuk..!!!
