I am pleased to say that 6 months ago today I had my last drink .

My last drinking session wasn't my worst ,I had many "worst last drinks" .
However I decided I had had enough and that I was struggling to recover even from a relatively short binge .

I can say with all honesty that I have never craved alcohol but there were a couple of rocky moments during Dec where I could have picked up due to some rubbish life occurrences and a bout of depression /ill health .

However here I am soldiering on living life without alcohol .

Please understand though ,life without alcohol doesn't make everything perfect but when those not so perfect times times descend they are much much easier to handle .

Good for you.

It doesn't make everything better, but I am always amazed at how I could handle the rest of the stuff life throws at you drunk. Oh yeah, I couldn't.....

Congratulations hpdw. Well done on 6 months. I am so glad you are doing well. I have been lucky enough to be long term sober in the past and I know it doesn't make for a perfect world, but it sure is better than a drunk world.
