Approaching 1 Year - 340 Days - Wow and Exhale!
Hey guys,
It's been a little while since i've shared so i thought i'd post. It's Friday night and i'm at my cabin so decided to take some me time to reflect.
In early February of last year i had completed a work contract and decided after some time sober i was going to drink. I planned it out and everything. Finished the assignment and planned to meet friends at a bar. I got drunk that night and for the next 6 days/nights i spent them alone in my cabin drinking to oblivion. That one brief rationalization that i could drink again and that i wasn't POWERLESS over alcohol was one more trip to the ER (5K bill) and detox for me. Alcohol is truly cunning, baffling and powerful. On Feb 13th, 2017 i said enough is enough and I surrendered.
Since then there have been many ups downs with many aspects of my life but have learned to live life on lifes terms and i have stayed sober with help of SR, my sponsor, friends in the program and most importantly the 12 steps.
Thanks Everyone!
Garrison

Hi Garrison - It's wonderful to read your positive post. Congrats on your 340 days. Experiencing life with eyes wide open & a clear head is the only way - wish I'd learned that many years before I did. You're doing this!
