Day 1
36 days off alcohol after a wreck that shattered my nose and broke a vertebrae, and today was the day that I flushed my pills down the toilet, the one thing that seemed like it made me happy. Cried for a little bit then felt empowered that I made a decision ON MY OWN, with no one forcing me that is gonna help my life and rebuilding one from scratch at that! Just hope you are all doing well, I have my first AA meeting in 2 hours or so!

Hang in there. Life gets better than the "shattered nose and broke vertebrae." I have had my share of shattered parts and prefer any now not to have been lubricated by alcohol. If this is the "incident" that changes things, then it is really a small price to pay.

I'm sorry for the painful accident and the aftermath - but look at you now - off alcohol & dumping your pills. Be proud of yourself for taking action. I hope the meeting is helpful & encouraging.
