Thank you Dee. I am in......
Weekends drinking were the starting point of building my own prison. Weekends still remain a bit of a challenge sometimes, particularly Friday night. Glad to have SR to reach out to if the going gets tough.
Hope everyone has a weekend of pure freedom.

I am a thousand percent in! I am facing the challenge of this weekend (my first sober weekend since the holidays) with pure optimism and excitement. I cannot wait to wake up feeling fresh, to go for runs, to drink tea, to catch up with a friend (and ACTUALLY listen to her and help her out since I'm lucid).
And most importantly, I cannot wait to wake up Monday knowing that I lived every moment this weekend in the present, connected and inspired by the joy that is life. High fives everyone!

Morning everyone, it is a cold but beautiful morning here in London, for a change.
Welcome to Weekenders ProfessorD! You can do it. One of the big bonuses of not drinking or using is that the weekend seems to last so much longer, it is like being given free time off.

I would bet money that the coldest part of winter is over.....says the audacious Australian who has only lived here for 10 months......I have finches galore, red breasts as fat as houses, my cardinals and a ton of squirrels.....they are all coming out.

I am in for the weekender thread. I have been extremely sick for a couple of weeks, and now that I’m better, I have a ton to catch up on for work and home. And I travel for business all next week. Yike. I have plenty to occupy my mind and my time, but also a bit anxious, to say the least.
(((BixBees))) ♥
I'm sorry to hear you have been so sick.
Glad you are on the mend, but I bet you have a zillion things to do.
One at a time love, as much as you can.
Sending huge hugs.

In for a sober weekend.
Not interested in complicating my life ever again by adding shackles.
Bondage.
Prison.
Whatever you want to call it, alcohol is a death trap physically, emotionally and spiritually.
When I first came to SR, reading through one of the many relapse threads someone posted, "You don't let a lion out of its cage a little at a time."
Amen to that.
