Hi again...

I was posting fairly regularly mid 2017 and managed to stay sober for about 7 weeks...

Not sure what happened really. Let my guard down. Stopped posting. Started having a few drinks here and there which of course escalated into daily drinking with binges once or twice a week.

But I'm back. 4 days sober and determined. I know how to do this and I know how good I'll feel in a few weeks time, just gotta keep going this time and 'tweek' the plan a bit.

I'm a mum of two young kids, live in Australia. Married. Job. Life looks pretty rosy from the outside. I haven't hit 'rock bottom' in that I haven't lost a job from booze, or my family etc. But it's taken it's toll on my mental health and I'm sick to death of how depressed and anxious it makes me. Late last year my mental health was at rock bottom and my husband was at his wits end with me. Mostly because he wanted to help me but felt I wasn't helping myself. I can't keep going this way or I'll lose my life. I'm sure of it.

I'm looking forward to connecting on SR again. What a great place it is :grouphug:

You can stay free of it and have a wonderful new life. Congrats on your 4 days - you're on your way. :)

Welcome back, time2shine!
You know the only time you fail is when you stop trying.
This time you'll stop for good.:grouphug:

Welcome back time2shineagain :)

Have you thought any on what you might do differently this time?

Thanks Dee. I wrote up a bit of a plan last year but to that I need to add being more vigilant in avoiding places where alcohol is served. My husband is more supportive now & is taking a break from booze for a while (he's a heavy drinker). So hopefully that will help.
