Anxiety....I think..

My partner is trying to cut down on his alcohol intake. A week ago he would consume a large bottle of brandy a day. Now trying to cut down to lager only. He is suffering from a lot of anxiety we think. His main concern with this, is he is feeling an awful lot of pressure in his head. Can anyone tell me is this withdrawal? and what can we do if anything to relieve his frightening symptoms.

Cutting down or changing drinks never really helped me. Alcohol is still alcohol. When I quit completely the anxiety really does ease. Alcohol is a depressant and makes me paranoid and anxious.

Maybe direct your partner to this site for help in stopping.

Take him to a doctor for help with this. We cannot give medical advice but know all too much how bad withdrawals can be.
I think he should talk to his doctor about safely quitting.
