January and I,m back here again

Happy New year to you all. 55 male based in the UK.. heavy beer drinker for 30 years, every night 70 uk units a week.Gave up for 18months in 2013 but found I had bad cravings and started again.Weaned myself with lower consumption since November, haven't drunk for the past 4 days, drinking the same quantity ie 10 bottles of zero alcohol beer..Does that sound ok?,or should i try and loose any association. I'm doing well just slight cravings atv5pm my usual start time.
Best wishes Car dealer.

Welcome back, and 4 days of sobriety is great!

There are often discussions here about drinking low alcohol beer/wine. Most people find that drinking it tends to maintain the habit aspect of the addiction.

Hi Cardealer

Lots of 0 alcohol out there, someone in the alcohol marketing industry does not want to lose its best customers! Me thinks!

I am guilty of having used these 0 beers as a tool previously at the very begining.

HOWEVER I do think that they are an awful tease at a vulnerable time.

For me beer was not the drink of choice so I guess it be less of a tease for me!
And the O wine is like dishwater so no probs there hahahhaha!

I know many ex drinkers that got hooked on sparkling water to replace alcohol.. add a splash of elderberry syrup and you got yourself a healthy mocktail!

I can only speak for my experience, it didn't work for me. Take care of yourself, keep going, one day a time.

Likewise, I have tried it and it didn't work. I am back on day 2 today after a terrible blowup this weekend. Probably my worst ever. There is too much work that has to be done now on myself that its a lot more than just not drinking. In many respects my life needs to be rebuilt and many behaviours changed. I can't imagine any place in my new sober life for a 0% beer.

NA beer didn't work for me either. I didn't like the taste, so went back to the taste of the beer I preferred.
