20 hours

It has been 20 hours since my last drink. I went to a meeting this morning for the first time. I have never felt so anxious and hopeful all at the same time. A few people approached me after and one even texted me later just to check in. I am very anxious right now but need to make it through. Alcoholism killed my brother and i am not going to let this kill me too. I have too much to live for.

Welcome, Nicole! I am very glad you are here. SR has been a great help to me in getting and staying sober, and I hope you stick around. Keep up the great work of putting one sober foot in front of the other. Wishing you peace and strength on your sober journey.

Welcome Nicole! I am new too and understand your post though completely and I have yet to go to a meeting. Alcoholism has affected my family as well- and my brother is doing time for DUI's.

I'm sorry for the tragic loss of your brother. I'm so glad you've decided to take action and get help. Some never admit what it's doing to their lives. You can do this.
