Anxiety

Still get hit with anxiety just like getting hit with cravings
They aren’t often and hit with no warning
And
If I was drinking it’d be much worse
36 days I think. Kinda stopped counting

Congrats on 36 days!! Anxiety is unpredictable...but the longer you stay sober the less anxiety will occur

Great job on 36 days Rodney. I suffer from anxiety too - and while quitting drinking did improve it somewhat, I still needed to accept and address that It was a distinct and separate issue I needed to treat accordingly.

If it's causing you distress or altering how you go about your day, consider seeking some help. Anxiety and Depression are very, very common afflictions and both are very treatable.

Thanks y’all
The anxiety/guilt/sadness while I drank was unbelievable.
While not drinking it’s tolerable.
I’m diagnosed with PTSD and I believe said diagnosis.
I’m also generally a happy person and the two states of being should be contradictory but they aren’t in my case
Impossible for me to explain that
Although drinking just messed me up
No matter what I’ve had to endure lately, staying off booze is much better

Rodney, 36 days is great!

My situation is similar to Scott's, and I have less anxiety, but it's still there. I'm glad you're noticing an improvement.

When I had my panic attack in September (after drinking more than I usually do after 3 straight weeks), my anxiety and subsequent panic attacks lingered for 2 months. I had never had anything like that before. Nothing seemed to help and breathing exercises made it worse. Everything has since calmed down and those feelings have gone sway, thank goodness!
