Day 10 here. The cravings are like a snowball rolling downhill. The beast within is raging. Does this get any easier? Amazing how you don't know how embedded the hook is until you try to get loose.

It does get easy but it can take some time, just hand in there. It is scary to realize how much damage has been done and how long it takes to get loose.

For me the first six months were really hard but it's a lot better now after 11.

Like tekink said, it takes time. For me it started to get easier after about 4 months. Some evenings it’ll feel like fighting some demon in the underworld, just stay the course - the challenges will come in waves, but eventually you will make it to the other side!

Acceptance and seeing alcohol/drugs for what they really are; bad for me. Once I stopped and got some time behind be,booze was no longer on the pedestal I once placed it on.
