Hey everyone Stewy84 here. Not been a good 2017. Drank it away really. Want to get started again. It seems so much harder this time though. There are a few things going on. Anyone who knows me from last time will know the issues and unfortunately it’s very much the same stuff- lost my house, rubbish girlfriend etc Just wanted to say hi again Happy new year to everyone |
WELCOME back! Keep on quitting! I been at it 4 years now. Alcohol went from Daily use to maybe one once a month or one wine twice a month for the last two years. Which is still too much for me. We can do this! |
Welcome back Stewy unfortunately it’s very much the same stuff- lost my house, rubbish girlfriend etc D |
Stewy - I'm so glad you came back. :) There's no doubt that things can still turn around for you. |
Happy New Year, Stewy; I am thrilled that you are back with us. |
Welcome back. :) What are you going to do differently this time? |
Hey Stewy! Happy New Year! 2018 will just be more of the same without a solid GP. What's yours? |
Glad to see you here Stewey:) |
Hi Stewey, Welcome back. What is your plan to stay sober? |
I could do with some help with a plan...... I’m thinking a good start as I’ve been drinking in the evening is to get out and connect with people during that time |
have you thought about meeting based groups like AA or SMART or Lifering any more Stewy? D |
Welcome back. |
Welcome back Stewy👋. I really hope you can make it work this time. |

Welcome back, Stewy! My suggestion is for you to sit down and write a specific plan for how to get through each day sober. Come up with ideas that will work for you. And, then follow the plan without exception. You can do this! It's good to see you back. |
I’ve got my plan scheduled for today all written out. In preparation I’ve registered for Kevin o hara’s Video series- not sure if anyone else has seen him but he seems to have some good insights into how to go about tackling quitting I’m going to stay close on the forum. I have told my family about getting this out of my life and asked them to keep me accountable. I’m going for it now, keeping focussed on the goal and not deferring from it 1.quit alcohol 2. Finish my CBT course 3. Sort my house out 4. Be better in my job There’s loads but going to start there |

Things going well so far today, need to get something to eat now though as getting cravings and it’s coming up to the usual time I drink. Will update again later |
Hey stew I'm new here but I do understand, it's felt like each time I stopped the hole was deeper than it was before. I'm sorry things aren't going well for you and I hope they get better! |
