Any Excuse to Give Up
 

That's what my AV is looking for. Any excuse to stop working on having a happy sober life and go back to drinking.

I used to settle for any excuse to stop trying to be sober, too. Funny how I would only do that when it came to pursuing my goal of a happy sober life. I set goals every day and never get derailed, but with drinking it was different.

For example, yesterday I needed to get to work. My truck was stuck in the snow, but I didn't let that stop me. I had Mrs. Nons take me. The normal route was closed to traffic, but it didn't stop me. We found another road that was open.

It used to be that I had the goal of living a happy sober life and I would start toward that goal. Then I would hit an obstacle and I would just give up.
This is too hard.
I am a failure.
I can't do it.

One day I decided NOTHING was going to stop me from reaching this goal. Other people were doing it. That means I can do it, too. I will hit obstacles. I might fall flat on my face a bunch of times, but I am not giving up. I will persist until I find a way.

I found the way.

You can too.

Decide to do it.
Don't let anything stop you.
