Day one

This is, once again, day one of my sober journey. I will be 50 soon, and I don't want to take alcohol with me any longer

Welcome Candy,

I am glad you are here!!!

Do you have a strategy to remain sober? Care to share?

I like to come here often, I do go to an AA meeting weekly and I work my program for me!

keep in mind ...

its the 1st drink that gets us drunk not the 20th

we cant get drunk without that 1st drink

our choice is between miserable unhappy drunken drinking and all the consequences

or

not taking 1 drink

God bless

My new resolve has come from months of hard work and research, also from the knowledge I have gained from counselors, books etc. I have got to a mindset point where I do not WANT to drink, so stopping is not depriving me of anything at all. Alcohol is a liar, it is a killer who pretends to be your only friend. The past few bottles I had, I literally forced myself to drink while recording myself. The results were amazing, a fat bloated, drunk mess. That's NOT who I am. I have woken up for several weeks with no craving to drink, but followed the habit while changing my mindset about it (I don't want this , I don't need this, this is poison) We all have the ability to brainwash ourselves in a positive way, it takes time, but it eventually sinks in.:tyou
