All i can stomach is sweets
Hey all, back to day 2 AGAIN. I really thought last time i quit that was it. Well due to a health scare im trying again. And this time i cant afford to mess up. This time i have almost zero appetite. And normally despite the booze im a very healthy eater. All i can get down right now is some junk food like ice cream, a pastry, etc. Without feeling sick. Im not pigging out but i figure any food is better than none right now. Anyone else have no appetite when they quit, or could only handle sweets at first?
I had similar cravings with sweets. I ate lots and lots of junk food. I think thats my new addiction. I would suggest try to follow your brain not your cravings. Eat as healthy as possible before eating the sweets.
Yes, I ate a lot of sweets in the beginning.I didn't worry too much about it as it was better than drinking. I think it's pretty normal for us to crave sweets in early days. It passed and I got back to my regular foods.

Hi. I am on day 3 and haven't had a proper meal yet. But this is not new to me so I have my comfort foods for the first few days. Rice pudding is one, make a big dish of homemade then just have small bowls when you can. But sweets are nice too. I made cauliflower and cheese soup today as well, again just a small bowl when I can. I know I replaced food with booze so I fear getting hungry or that empty feeling. Good luck, Keep it up.

I have heard you crave sweets because your body was used to the booze which gets converted to sugar. So your body is craving that sugar now. I think eating is okay to curb the craving but as time goes on widdle it down.
