Newbie on Day 1
Newbie on Day 1
Hello everyone.
Im a newbie in the Uk on day 1. Ive had dry months in the past and last year flew through Dry January and into February but started again in March and its progressively got worse until last night. I drank waaay too much wine and have woken this morning once again wuth a raging hangover and the knowledge im going to lose another day of my life. Enough now. So here i am on day 1. One minute one hour one day at a time.

So many mornings like that myself. Then one morning, in 2010, after a night of uncontrolled drinking, I awoke, feeling like death, and saw with clarity for the first time where my drinking had brought me and where it was headed. Vowed to quit, then and there. Did whatever it took to keep that promise, and here I am, blessed to be sober.

I am on day 4. I hated the way I felt every morning and worrying I smelled like alcohol. And to be honest I was also worried a lot about my health and my appearance. If I keep the reasons why I don't want to drink in mind anymore I am hoping it will help me keep going. Good luck! We have each other.

Hi and welcome, am from the UK too, in kent! I have nearly 6 months sober now, and life is 1000% better than I ever imagined it could be. Being here constantly the first month helped me immensely, so stay close and active and I wish you luck in your new sober life!
Welcome soberista,
You've made a great decision to quit drinking. You won't ever regret that decision. There is hope and happiness beyond belief. You just need to get a plan/program and work it as hard as you drank.
Good luck
