New Years-no drinks

New Years eve was anxiety provoking for me..I went to a friends where the whiskey, beer, vodka, and champagne was flowing heavily..but I did not drink. A few things I realized were, I can still have fun minus alcohol..and actually remember the next day what happened. Also, alot of what drunk people talk about makes no sense. LOL. If only I can go back in time and listen to myself! I made it sober until 4 am..and then managed to make NY dinner yesterday. Such a good feeling to start out the New Year ie sober.

Well done.

Now don't drink to congratulate yourself for not drinking.

Don't laugh - it's a thing! The post-holiday letdown/"made it" thing.

Good work.

I agree that it is a good feeling to start the new year sober.

I love what you wrote! I feel the same way. It is unbelievable to not be hungover and remember everything. It's like a whole new world! I would bet you if someone had made me watch a video of myself while totally messed up, I would have quit YEARS ago. How embarrassing to think about all the stupid things I have said and done...

Well done,

I felt like this on Christmas Day so nice to enjoy my dinner.

Spent New Year's Day in bed with a really bad fever/virus. Was comforting knowing that it wasn't caused by alcohol as in previous years.

Here's to a sober 2018
