For the past decade, and quite possibly longer, I seem to have gravitated to folks who party. Iíve seemed to have slowly retreated from those who didnít do so at any given chance.
Wow. I never realized this until now.
Itís been incredibly easy to retreat from everyone immediately. Lots of things have changed in the past month. Iíve had two people seek me out.... well, a third did but I never responded because all he will want to do is drink with me. Other than these, I never realized how solitary Iíd become, even in crowds. When drunk most of the time, I cared about appearances. That seems bizarre but itís teue. Now, with that needed clarity, I could not care less about a lot of crap. I like the way things are now much better. If I continue to drink I am going to eventually die from doing so sooner or later. This is my focus. No longer am I worried about a great many things that I worried about before. Hard to believe I was like I was- actually that just wasnít me.
This sobriety is becoming liberating.

Can relate to a lot of what you have said. In sobriety we can walk to the beat of our very own drum, unhindered and with confidence and conviction.

The real you/us are pretty special people.

Getting sober, and practicing gratitude, changed my life for the better. Sobriety is indeed liberating.
