Educational/documentary tips and ideas please

I'm planning on educating myself as much as possible about alcoholism and illness etc. I've only just heard about Kindling and PAWS - quite terrifying to say the least.

I'm thinking that the only way to get this into my thick head is by scaring myself with the reality of what alcohol is doing to my body and mind. I've read some good books already but I'm looking for anything really powerful, books or documentaries, to educate myself.

I need to get an educational army behind me or I'm just going to be stuck in this cycle forever and it's not good enough for 2018!

Gabe it's harrowing but have you seen the documentary "Rain in my Heart"?
You'll find it on YouTube it was originally in 10 parts but the full thing is there.

Yes. There is another movie that I saw along time ago called, "When A Man Loves A Woman". Google it for more info. I remember it really hit home for me.

I've seen that, it was brilliant. I've just watched Smashed, also really good. Worth a watch. Gabe x

I made myself watch it quite early on Gabe. It really is a brutal portrayal of end stage alcoholism. Quite the deterrent which I suspect is what you're looking for.
