Every time zone seems to welcome 2018 by this moment.
Kudos to everyone who saw it in sober.
"Join us" to everyone who is willing to have this great experience.
We are here to help and support.
Because, maybe, all you need right now is someone to say that it can be done.
Let me tell you a short story.
I have irrational fear of doing box jumps.
In case you don't know what it is, here's the way this scary thing looks like.
I tried. Honestly. And every time I stand in front of the box I am sure I don't have enough strength to jump on top. No way. I will crash and hurt myself.
About a week ago my boxing trainer, in his business-as-usual manner, told me: "Ok. now go do 20 box jumps".
I am like: "No way. I can't".
He: "What?! Of course you can".
So, we are standing in front of this box and arguing.
Then he changes his tactics: "Ok, hold my hand."
I squeezed his hand and jumped. 3 times.
He pushed it further: "Now, I am just holding your thumb a little bit. Jump".
I jumped.
I still have to make the last step and jump all by myself.
One jump at a time.
See?
I had it all in me. I just needed someone who believed in me and held my hand.
It's not magic.
If something can work magic, for me it would be unwavering commitment and discipline. No negotiating with myself. No "Yes, I am breaking the word I've given myself again, but...{excuse of my choice here". No. Once decision is made there is no way back. That's where magic begins.
It's a lot of work and choosing environment that support you.
And the scariest moment is right before the jump. But once it's made, it gives 'Wow effect".
I've just taken down all the NY decorations.
Time to work some magic.
And I am listening to this song on repeat. Love it.
