SR New Year 2018 Time Zones Marathon
It is just after 1pm here in Italy. I had invited a colleague and her boyfriend over. They are both non-drinkers. I thought it would be fun to make a big, fancy dinner (she loves food like I do!) and play cards or something. Unfortunately they can't make it. My ex boyfriend is still going to come by. We are going to have oysters and smoked salmon and watch some episodes or True Detective 2. If he gets here early enough, before it gets dark, I'd like to get a nice walk in. In any case, looking forward to a nice afternoon and evening and waking up hangover free ready to make 2018 the best year of my life!
This is always such a fun thread! Thanks, Midnight Blue, and welcome to those ringing in their first year as sober people! What a fantastic transition you're making!

10:15 AM on Dec 31 here in Calgary, Alberta.
-35 to -40 C with the windchill!!!!!!!!!! Severe cold weather warning for the whole province and most of Canada!
Our outdoor celebrations have been cancelled due to the dangerously cold temps, first time ever that I know of.
I will be safe, sound and sober come midnight, if I manage to stay awake

Just 1 hour 43 minutes to New Year.
I indulging in watching Hallmark New Year movies. They are so sweet that can serves as substitution for sugar which I don't eat)
Every New Year in sobriety progresses to more changes for me. Less what is "supposed to be", more that really matters.
Now all these changes feel natural, integral of my new lifestyle - gym on December 31, healthy food, sparkling water with juice instead of Champaigne. Waking up early and listen to the quiet morning.
It's important for me to create good memories throughout the entire year instead of trying to squeeze them all into one night.
