I am a member of a 12-step group here in Idaho. I am an atheist. And I do not believe I have sufficient evidence that a God exists. And I do not believe in a higher power referred to as any power I want to use as long as "it"....
referring to something "thing".
I don't believe in a spiritual Realm. I don't believe in faith... Which is not a pathway to truth. So I am just reaching out to see if there is any one in the recovery community that has found a 12-step program that is not based on the fundamental principles of mainstream faith-based recovery. Leaving God at the door...

There are multiple paths that do not require a higher power, including AVRT (Rational Recovery), SMART Recovery, and SOS.

I don't know where you are in Idaho but there is an atheist meeting in AA's area 18 for Treasure Valley. Smart Recovery is not faith based, I don't think.

I remember when my daughter was 8 she did a presentation in class on the God's of Greece. Now bein from Idaho and all, the little Christian/Mormon kids were so shocked. One little girl said, don't you believe in Jesus? Aren't you a Christian? She proudly said, Nope, I'm a Pagan. Oh my god. One of those unforgettably funny moments. That's just what your name reminded me of.....
