Hi FallingStars, I’ll be alone too, but feeling a peace with it. I have been practicing a lot of gratitude thinking, which really helps me. I’m warm, safe well fed and have a lot of opportunities. I too tried to volunteer but they were also full. I plan to treat myself well and reach out on FaceTime to family.

In recent years, I've ended up being on SR most of Xmas day as it really is a time that people need some support, soo yes there will be people about.
"Alone" though doesn't have to be a negative, after I spend time with the extended family Xmas day I head back to my place and spend the rest of the evening on my own.
A time to put the kettle on, put the feet up , watch large amounts of Xmas TV, and eat large amounts of sugar . . . I don't mind my own company, and not everyone does, but I make the best of it!!

Best 100 Movies on Netflix
I think taking in a movie (or 5) is a great idea! Along with reading books (which I call the drugless drug because books alter consciousness).
