Progress

Feeling horrible, throwing up and alternating between freezing and sweats. Nauseated so much, unable to sleep and trying to sip some ginger ale. I purchased less then my normal amount yesterday and plan to continue to. Normally I’d be fine the next day but I wasn’t able to keep down any water when I tried so I gave up and feeling a little better then yesterday but still horrible.

Just trying to occupy my mind to not think of the nausea, maybe someone else will read this and not want to be going through what I am.

Thank for you this post. Really. I am trying to quit and tonight, there will be lots of temptations. Reading posts like this helps put things into perspective - a fleeting moment of pleasure is not worth a lifetime of suffering.

Stay strong. Sending a hug your away.

I used to find that sips of boiled water with sugar, helped when I couldn't keep anything down.
Thanks for posting - a good reminder.
Hope you feel better soon

I'm sorry you're feeling so sick sonkien. You never have to feel this way again though. Comfort yourself with that truth as you recuperate.

Someone on SR told me that a few years ago when I was hung over. I wasn't sure I believed them, but indeed that was my last hangover. Start putting your sobriety plan together. You can do it! This can be your turning point. Onward to a healthy 2018.

Keepin on

Thanks for all of the replies. I felt much worse today then the last couple days. Threw up over 50 times throughout the day. Never felt this sick before. I decided to not go further with the tapering and go cold turkey by taking a klonopin, and hopefully get sleep.

I had a difficult time walking to the bacthrook. I have work in the afternoon tomorrow, but I’m hoping to feel better from not drinking today.

Be sure to keep a journal and write this down as to what happens when you drink to give yourself a reminder when you get the "bad thoughts"

Onward

That’s a great idea, will do!

I didn’t get much sleep last night but that’s better than drinking and being back where I was the last couple days.
