Happy birthday!

Getting ready for a day with family tomorrow, going to be a long one. My in-laws celebrate christmas eve and it's typically a party.

It's going to be a great sober Christmas day.
I am researching cooking a goose.
We will be about 12 at the table.
That's enough for me....

I really enjoyed this thread over the last few months. I got to write an OP that was great. I remember thinking about it working at it. It helped me get a lot of sobertime. Thanks to you guy's for the help and advice and great craic generally. It was friends over on the 24 hour who used to tell me to get ready for the weekend and I found the weekender...

I have this idea in my head over the last few days that I am going to start counting down sober days to Xmas day 2018. It's a great objective.
I don't have a choice anymore.
I'm ready.

I've officially done the "weekend" sober, 1030pm on sunday here in NZ, Santa should be flying through the skies soon..
Friday and Saturday where hard to get through, today much easier. I'm confident that tomorrow will be fine, my usual family champagne breakfast isn't happening this year and my partners family don't drink alot, the night may be a small struggle with my extended family but stocked with ginger beer and being DD will help get me through...
Hope everyone's having a great Xmas eve..

Day 4 for me . My friend (who begged me to join him on a night out last night) called me this morning, devastated - he spent his entire bonus from work last night. I told him to only withdraw the money for booze and taxi home, and to leave his ATM card home. Didn't listen and now he's flat broke. I know that feeling all too well.

So happy to be sober.

Mr P downed a bottle of red last night... I'm sad to say it smelt good and I was very tempted... but happy to report in that I binged on junk food and Lucozade instead... Geepers he even sweated wine smells all night.....
Hugs to all...
Turkey is cooking....
Then off to shops for my present from Mr P.... he loves to go Christmas eve... not my idea of fun but not an argument worth having...hey at least he wants to get me something😀

Still boxing and kick boxing ?

Happy turkey day to Tetra too.
I used to love xmas dinner in ireland (turkey and ham and my sister used to always make trifle with cadburys flakes in it.... )

H&S any news, come back to us, you are only lost temporarily. You already have proved you can do it.

Who else havent we seen this weekend ?
(I feel a bit like the mother duck, sorry...)

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone. The brioche looks divine v. I bought some eggnog for after I come home from the gift giving and eating visit to parents. So I have a drink to focus on instead of beer I've been afraid to look at the calories or ingredients (it has to be 1000 calories - it's sooo rich!!). Oh well getting in every indulgence before New Year's. My goal is to lose forty pounds by Christmas 2018.
