My first day sober
 

So this is my first day sober. I am really scared about tonight. I get really nervous when my step dad gets home. When i get nervous i tend to want to drink. Dont get the wrong idea he doesn't hurt me or anything...he is just a jerk. I am also taking care of my grandmother who has Alzheimer's disease. Both of these things cause me allot of stress but i cant avoid them. I am scared because i dont know what to do when the bad feelings hit tonight.

I’m 2 weeks sober today and this is the first time I’ve really ever quit booze
It’s scary but the main things is making that decision and I promise you that it gets better
Keep the thought of being sober on your mind and coping tools will begin to form.
You can absolutely do this

Hi and Welcome and I'm glad that you have decided to stop drinking.

Do you have any help with your grandmother? Looking after someone with Alzheimer's is very stressful. Having a regular break-time would be really helpful.
