Remind myself often about how deadly and disgusting my lonely my alcoholism had become. Also, Christmas cookies! 😆

Clean my room and stay on SR. It is Day 3 for me and I need to get out of bed.

I printed out a sober recovery plan template. Today I'm going to take steps to put it together, plus making a to-do list and actually crossing things off (since I'm not hungover!) Day 3.

How about Green Tea? I hear it's healthy for you
I definitely have a tea problem. I have dozens of different kinds....too many (imagine that). I like to mix teas. Like take green tea and mix it with a rasberry tea.....that sort of thing. I have a milk steamer so I make london fogs...so yummy. I'm into loose leaf tea now too. I also make iced teas...my favorite is peppermint tea with green tea then I add passionfruit syrup (you can get em cheap at cash and carry if you're in the US). Blackberry too. Honey in tea....always a winner. Or just straight up green tea. There's a loose leaf green called Fruity pebbles....it has bits of dried fruit in it that mellow out any bitterness. I also bought orange peel, rose petals and lavender petals (dried) from cost plus that I add to teas. Of course you can buy all those flavored teas but this is more fun.

And I'll be working out, walking my dog and house cleaning today. Its a no AA day. I have a friend who is in crisis mode right now so I may need to be of service to her. That's about it.

I read somewhere (I believe) that accomplishing items on a to do list helps trigger dopamine levels...or enhance...or something along those lines haha. Dopamine helps with motivation I believe.

I've been making a reasonable, small to do list every day, And boy, it feels great to cross things off. I certainly feel the effects in a positive way.

Its kinda funny....as I'm reading your post RUL23 I'm looking at three lists....a shopping list, a list of colleges and various data (for my daughter), my to do list and my calendar. Lists help keep me on track, get things done and ease anxiety. I guess they are really a huge part of a 'plan'. I prefer the term 'program' but its just semantics.

I've started by making the small, reasonable list late every night and it's one of the first things I look at when I wake up. Then slowly chip away!

Started the day with gym time.

After work will look around SR a bit.

At bedtime will devote 30 min or so to something relaxing and interesting on Netflix.

Petting my dogs and cats always makes me feel contented. It's a good reminder how much better I care for them sober.

Meditate in the morning for 15 minutes, followed by saying out loud three things I’m thankful for

Doing service work at my home group. Power-lifting at the gym(while cursing and spitting like a savage). Going with my sponsor to the detox center I came from on Christmas eve to give gifts and candy.

Getting your license? I've toy'd with the idea since I invest in properties anyway, but just don't really have the time right now.
