I have a question

12 Days in and I still have anxiety but I have overwhelming sadness today
I’m not going to relapse, but I do think this is something I’ve had in the past few years and forgot about but I think it’s one of the reasons I’ve binged for so long
It may even be THE reason
Just figured this out today and I’m asking; is this a possible withdrawal symptom? Because it doesn’t feel natural

Congrats on 12 days. That's super early times so hang in there. It is completely normal to be all over the place emotionally. For me at least it can take several months to really differentiate between PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome...google it. Its a thing) and true feelings.

I found that my emotions were all over the place in early recovery as my brain adjusted to living sober. It will pass with more sober time. After around six months sober, I felt pretty much normal again. It gets better.

Well done on 12 days. I found my emotions were all over the place in early sobriety. Hang on in there, it does settle down.

Hang in there. Its a bit of a roller coaster ride early on. It took me almost a full year to feel my genuine emotions again and it was weird.

As others have said, emotions will be all over the place in the early days. But, 12 days of sobriety is fantastic!
