Around midnight we received a call
15 year old grandkid had an episode with her stepfather while our daughter was at work and the police were involved
For the time being, she needs a place to stay
Sober for 12 days now and this happens
Luckily I am because in “drunk mode” this wouldn’t have worked out but now the sober me is able to think clearly and do the right thing
It’s weird how these two things- my sobriety and our new addition to the household- happened in such a timeframe
This frankly amazes me

Arent you lucky your sober to deal with these complications.
Look after your grandkid and your daughter too.
Well done on your 12 days.

Your granddaughter needs you now, and you are ready and able to care for her. You can feel proud, capable and so motivated! Enjoy your young lady, and enjoy your sobriety. (Some people start a new hobby or an exercise program, you are refocusing on your family in need! Congrats!)

It's a good thing you're sober so you can deal with this. :)
