19 days sober

It dawned on me today that 19 days is the longest ive gone without drinking in nearly 10 yrs. Of those 10 yrs i didnt drink alot per say..everything was progressive of course. I have to say, the last few days have been good. No anxiety (which is the worst), no crying spells, no sweating, etc..but i feel blah..yet my mind feels clear. Not feeling sad but not happy either. Last week I had a really hard time coping with stress..because i have always drank to deal..the last few days have not been so bad in regards to that either. I have made it to church the last few Sundays..which I think has helped. I havent made it to a meeting..maybe that should be my next step..

Congrats.

I felt blah for a while too. You drank everyday for 10 yrs. It takes time for your body to readjust.

Any record length of sobriety is a huge achievement.

Congratulations.

Keep on doing what you are doing.

Congratulations!

Many things take time. Usually half the time of addiction to feel like your true self again. I started using when I was 9. I'm 31 now, so it could take me up to 11 years to remember who I am. Don't get discouraged, instead work towards discovering your true self. Without the first grain of sand, there is no beach.
