Here again

It's been a few years but the same problem. I drink every day. 3-7 old fashions. For those of you who don't know what and old fashion is, It is whiskey, bitters, cherry juice and soda. My tummy hurts all the time but I still don't quit. What's wrong with me? I'm not stupid.
My husband died last year. We were married 24 years. I really miss him. So I guess I'm depressed too.
ADVICE PLEASE
Thank you

Welcome You are in a good place here with us!

I am sorry for your loss.

Have you attended any AA meetings?
Worked some sort of program?
Have you stopped drinking?

I have an AA group I attend rarely. I love the people. I read the steps and my reflections every day. I guess I need to try harder

Are you working the program or just going through the motions? It'll never work if you are not working it.

Do you have a sponsor? If not, it is highly suggested you get one to start working the program.

You got this, your life is worth it!

Very sorry about your husband. Have you thought about rehab? Maybe an IOP?

Alcohol did me no favors when I had to deal with the deaths of my family.

Until I put it down, I just stayed down myself. There is life out there without numbing yourself. I hope you'll reach for help.

You are so right. I just keep going through the motions. The next meeting here is Sunday at the Alano Club. I will be there. I am at 18 hours right now. I'm currently on Step 5.
Thank you for the advice.

I went to rehab after my husband died but I think it was too soon and I was too depressed. It was only a 3 week program.
Thanks for the help I need it today

Stick around, perea. Spend some time with us, we're really (mostly) nice. I see you've been a member on here for a while. Have you ever joined in on a "Class" thread? It is people all trying to quit at about the same point.

Here's the December class. I know they'd love to have you. Just clickety:

I am sorry about your husband. I am glad you decided to post today. It took me a while to finally get it right, but I finally got serious about a recovery plan, and will hit the two year mark in two weeks.

This is a wonderful site, spend some time reading and posting.
