Probably best Ive felt in a long time

Probably the best Ive felt in a long time. Been a daily user or drinker for the better part of 15 yrs until a year plus ago. In AA I often hear from the old timers how they came in with 5 other people and 4 failed and at leat half of those failed are dead. And one guy came in with 8 others and the other 7 are dead... gone... not breathing.

Its apparent to me that for those of us with problems if we dont get the help we need death is the likely path and an early death at that. One guy is barely 40 and he has lost 12 friends to drugs and alcohol in the past 3 years... i mean that is rediculous.

Sure I am still working through stuff and Im far from perfect but my life is really falling into place. Moved across country recently and Ive found an awesome job. We are doing work on our house and its coming along well...

No longer am i hungover every morning and while I am not excited to get up every morning (I am so not a morning person) but I dont dread it.

Basically I dont want to die early but I was on that path... I want to be a success in AA and my life... I want to be one of those good stories not a bad one.

You can do it as well. Just take that initial plunge and stick to it.

There are also many horrible consequences short of death.

I'm amazed I never got a DUI or worse hurt someone.

And it goes on from there.

Isn't it nice to not have to worry about that?
