Feeling lost

I've been feeling lost lately. So I decided to join a group where I thought I could talk with people that are in a similar situation.
It get a so frustrating I want to scream and run.
My alcoholic is always out. Probably 6 nights a week. I try to stay busy but it gets lonely when the one person you want to do stuff with chooses alcohol. You would think after almost 10 years I could handle it by now. It never gets easier. The years keep moving on and I ask myself is this really where I want to be? I'm 47 and don't know if I want to spend the rest of my days in this vicious cycle.

Welcome to SR, Vince; I am glad that you found this supportive, understanding and encouraging forum.

One of the great things about SR is that, as it has members around the globe, there is most always someone here to listen.

There is a Friends & Family forum here at SR, too. You may want to read around that forum and maybe post there, too.

I will post a link in a moment.

I am sorry for what brings you here.

I am so sorry for the loneliness that you are experiencing; I think that it is one of the most difficult of feelings.
