I met with our financial adviser a couple months ago, when she asked if my investing goals had changed, I'm like, nope, pretty much the same as always, I don't want to be eating cat food when I am old!

One thing I am really looking forward to is the peace and serenity of the season, just going out for walks - or drives to see the lights, the Santa Claus parade and hot chocolate after. Taking what I want from the season and not caring what others want or need or think I need.

I'm with you both. I'm trying to retire within 2.5 years, early at 56,
as "the extra stress" part is finally beginning to get to me big time.
That and some of the "clever" folk we've hired of late can't seem
to find their azz with both hands in terms of how to behave
with courtesy towards others.
It's been a rough week in particular so far, but still sober

I've spent years working to get a promotional track added to my academic rank,
and now I just don't care to do all the work to apply.
But, other people down the road will benefit, and that means a lot

However, all the years of hard work and getting it somewhat together by quitting drinking
have paid off and hopefully I will be in a lake house and not under a bridge, unless I'm fishing.

That's the plan, anyhow. . .

It's fine of course for Norwegian Trolls as they all live under bridges.

I am off to the office party some people started at lunchtime...

I cleaned the top of my fridge last night, although I made my husband help Inside isn't too bad, a bowl of salsa fell over earlier in the week which necessitated the deep cleaning of the bottom.

I am so ready for the weekend, wondering if my client will notice if I say I am leaving early to go to the post office, considering that is why I was late this morning... I really care about the mail getting out ROFL!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I've enjoyed reading what folks are up to this weekend - I'm dealing with some medical "stuff" so not sure what I'll be up to. I've logged in to my Netflix account and have actually enjoyed watching a few movies so far as I was home from work today. I'm actually hoping I can go back on Monday. I have a crochet project I could pick up too. I'm reading "The Gifts of Sobriety" and really enjoying it - highly recommended!

A house by the lake sounds so lovely Hawkeye. Wish I could retire soon. So over office politics...alas I'm 46 so have years and years to work. Off to hubby's Christmas party now. Can't be bothered I've got a headache.

Well done Saou.
Sore throat could be from all the singing...
I had one last Sunday after my works party😂

Hope you feel better soon Sao. I'm going to set a new record for how much lemonade can be consumed at Christmas party! Not craving alcohol which is a relief...just super thirsty.

It's flipping 28°F here. My poor hummingbirds. I have their feeder sitting on top a ball of Christmas tree lights which keeps it from freezing. I always worry though, since one year a little one stayed on the feeder and froze, I don't know why. I can never decide whether to bring the feeder in every night or just do the lights thing. They get up earlier in the morning than I do and I'd hate to keep them waiting. Crazy that I feel responsible for wild animals.

I'm not really awake yet, that's the best I could do. ^^

Coffee, bacon and eggs with my blueberry/walnut /flax/apple oatmeal this morning. So many errands today. They all cost money, too. Funny how that is.

Grateful for the no-hangover Saturday.

The poor little hummingbirds.

The ball of lights was a great idea, Bim.

Hope it warms up a bit.
