Hoping time will heal our marriage/selves. We've drifted so far apart I'm not too sure. We put on some kind of show to the world but we both struggle through resentments, apathy, health issues at "home". We certainly would be in a better place if I'd gotten sober years ago. All I can do is concentrate on myself-stay sober. Hopefully as she sees me get healthier she'll try harder too. If we've become too toxic, time will tell.

Time can heal celandra, but it also takes effort. Glad to hear you are concentrating on yourself...sometimes that's all we can do.

I second what Scott posted.....only time and good behavior on your part will heal your relationship. Patience

Welcome Celandra, glad you are here! Time definitely helps, and if I can offer a small bit of advice try to stay focused on the present. You can't change what happened in the past, but you have the opportunity to write a new chapter, and each day is a clean page.
