5th week down, 2 major triggers

So I managed 5 weeks and a day. Yay.
Better than that, I overcame two major triggers, an afternoon with my mother and a night without my husband.
I ignored my mom and ignored her baiting me for an argument.
Last night I came home and my husband got called out to an emergency, normally I would have to drink to fall asleep, I took my youngest to bed with me, she read her book, I read the big book and got a good night sleep. Amazing, finally. I have always hated sleeping if all my family isn't under the same roof.
That is all, happy Tuesday.

That’s great MyLittleHorsie to hear about your successes. Really well done!

I'll often read from the Big Book when I'm having trouble falling asleep too. It gives me comfort knowing that I'm in a much better place then when I was drinking.

Thanks Everyone!

It helped I cooked 9lbs of Mexican fried rice and 15lbs of ground beef for a party on the weekend LOL

One weird thing, I get light headaches every so often, and my skin has been out of control itchy. Usually it's milk that makes me itchy and aggravates my psoriasis, (I don't eat eggs or milk for the fall-spring because of this). I wonder if it's my liver still de-gunking. I have always had normal bloodwork, except once when I was told I needed more B vitamin, but I also know damage can still be done, while blood work is ok.
Maybe it's the effects of coming off a no sugar diet LOL. Three weeks into quitting, I was doing the gallon of water a day challenge all of last month (still drink that much now), my daughter decided as a family we should do the no sugar challenge for one week. She and I were the only ones to make it a week... Maybe I did too much too fast!

5 weeks is fantastic but not a lot of time for your body to recover, especially if like me you have been hammering it for years.

Enjoy and be proud of what you have achieved and just let some more time pass and see how you feel noting the improvements of course.

Hi mylittlehorsie :)

yeah I'd caution about doing too much too soon - I never ate much when I drank - my body needed nourishment when I quit, not more fasting?
