Not a drink but I had a cigarette...

Hey guys an gals. I'm almost three months sober and I feel good about it. But just got stressed out while cleaning the house and had on of my GFs back up cigarettes she had in the kitchen drawer. Hadn't smoked for over 8 years. First thing I'm doing is posting it on here cause I think it can be a slippery slope. I lost my license due to the drinking so have no interest in that right now but I feel guilty about smoking. Bad me, bad!

Have you considered trying a cigar?

As an ex-smoker I find the occasional cigar to be enjoyable without causing me to want to actually smoke again.

yea for me smoking again would be a big bad first step toward drinking/ drugging again

it all goes together

needing to change the way i feel is clear indication of the real problem which is me

the real problem is my selfish/ self-centered nature ...

self-centered fear

fear of losing something i have or fear of not getting something i demand

Hi Ramius - you made an error in judgement but you're aware of it. Try not to build it up too much.

Maybe a good opportunity to think about healthy ways to deal with stress tho?

Just posting my own experience here with cigars, they led me right back to smoking again after i had quit. And impossible not to inhale them as an ex smoker.

I took up vaping 7 years ago and now I think this is even causing me breathing problems . I never mentioned this here About 3 weeks ago I was in a foul mood and smoked half a cigarette and boy was it horrible , I felt dizzy and nauseous .

Like Dee says don't beat yourself up too much over this , I didn't and certainty didn,t make myself a day one x smoker .
