Four Days
 

...it takes four days to get it out of your body.

Day 1.....totally hungover. Wake up in the small hours with the pounding heartbeat....and then the sweating., the itching.
Day2....well, you survived last night, but today is just nothing and you
still feel tired. Collapse into bed, can't sleep....doze. Wake, sweating, itching. Maybe you've bought food to eat, but just not interested.
Day 3. Maybe feel better but nothing's changed. Maybe it's the
weekend again...and it's unbearably alone. Beer o'clock rolls around
Weekend night is like going to another planet.....dark side of the moon, no contact with planet earth.
Day4 ....is really day one of sober, Can you keep going? I keep failing, but some seem to.

....so. Anyone else want to suffer the next four days with me?

Not suffering but none the less I'll be right beside you Canguy :)

I'll be here to support you as well. You know you can get through the first few days, they won't be fun, but you can do it.

First days can be evil.

You never need to go through them again though so hang on to that and the faith that given a little time it will get so much better and all of the horrible feelings from the first few days will fade away.

I am right here with you. I do not suffer anymore though as I have not had a drink in over a year. No more strong urges. Now it is all about building the life I want to live. You certainly are not alone here on SR. So many folks in your corner.
