Thankful for surprises....
 

It has been 2 weeks since my last drink, and I am so thankful that some people actually celebrate without booze. I was invited to dinner tonight, and didn't know what to expect, as I didn't know any of them very well. I had my back up plan figured out if I was offered booze. To my delight, they poured sparkling apple cider for the toast, they didn't drink either! It was refreshing to have a holiday filled with laughter and joy, without the need for intoxicants. I think that when we are caught up in the depth of addiction, we assume that everyone drinks to celebrate, I guess it just isn't reality. I am thrilled to have made some new sober friends!!
