Traveller from Australia in Miami too many drinks

Hey guys,

Im zara 22 from Australia I left my country 4 months ago and since have been traveling throughout London, USA and most recently spent a far decent amount of time in Miami as I am doing some work here.

I guess, its got to a stage where I feel like my focus, my body and my mind isn't where it needs to be. Alcohol is starting to effect me in a negative way. Eg. Making rapid decisions, aggressive, using it to mask anxieties.

Its hard to resist temptation as a young girl in Miami but at this stage I got bigger things happening and opportunities so time to focus…

This is my Start…..

Curious to hear all your stories etc.

Welcome Zara. Glad to have you along with us on our sober journeys. I understand how tough it can be to get sober at a young age and in a cosmopolitan city like Miami. However, many young people living in urban areas are able to do it, so there's no reason you can't do the same.

Are you considering any support groups like AA or SMART Recovery? There are a number of AA meetings in the Miami area and according to the SMART website meeting list there is one meeting in South Beach and a number of meetings north of the Miami area.

And stick around this site; you will find a lot of support, understanding and help here.
