Day 73!
 

I have so much cooking to do. I just wanted to post a thread on here before doing so. I hope you all have such a wonderful holiday with your loved ones! Be careful if you're newly sober! Holidays will test your sobriety. Most of all make the best of it, and have faith in your ability to overcome situations that involve alcohol! Love you guys!

I almost burned down a house in Tahoe on Thanksgiving one year.

Put the turkey in one of those brown-in bags. Left the thing cooking and went for an off-road ride in the forest.

Came back to a house full of smoke.

Kinda not too bright as a twenty-something. It was fine, the bag just inflated and touched the heating element and then the fat started to smoke.

Oh my lol that happend to me one time but with oil it was INTENSE

I am in my glory ,my own little world surrounded by pots and pans ,utensils ,mixers,blenders, good food hot cooker/oven/stove , mouth watering smells ,steamy windows . Oh yes cooking is when I feel happy to be alive and now that I am sober I actually enjoy the end results where as in my drinking days i'd cook all day and hardly eat a bite .

I ended up going to Google earth and finding that house that I almost burned down. It was a great house and I loved it. It's still there - I lived in it 30 years ago. I wish Google would let me look inside. I have a lot of memories about that house.
