Let's make it through today without any effit moments from anyone, K?

I stopped drinking at family events in the eighties. They continued to offer me alcohol every single time I was there, even though I told them I was an alcoholic. Repeatedly. *sigh*

If you are going to an event today, you don't drink alcohol, don't forget! No matter how annoying Mom is or how judgey grandpa gets, it's not a reason. Oh, wait. Maybe that's just my family.

I miss them...all my family is gone...I'm not a big fan of holidays, so I'll move over and watch you guys have your fun.

H&S, well done.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. It's a cheesy card i'm afraid.

I am ready to go home now. I have done 11 hrs.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I recently slipped after going two months sober (the longest in years). Now I am on day 6 and intent on making this weekend without taking a drink.

Remember, alcohol solves nothing and quite often creates or amplifies problems.

I had a dream last night, I wasn't drinking but I was browsing a liquor store for something my freinds would like. But secretly it was for me. I came to my dream senses and walked out of there empty handed.

Did everyone make it?

I didn't even eat that much! Yay, me. For the first time in ever I didn't make yesterday all about seeing how much I could stuff in my mouth. I feel much better about myself this morning. I even took an hour and a half walk in the rain yesterday.

I didn't buy turkey. I may live to regret the lack of leftovers.

I'm pretty sure the store will still sell me some turkey...

I made it. Heck yeah.

But STDragon, I also had a dream about it...first in a long time. It was long and very vivid and included drunk me knowing what I wanted to say and having it come out slurred and abbreviated, drunk me getting home (driving of course) and realizing I was way way way too drunk, trying to check repeatedly to see if partner’s car was in the garage, unable to remember what I had seen, having to look again. I dont think my dream included any euphoria. Only the “oh $#|+” guilt, multiple lie formulation and calculations of lie success. I have never been so surprised to wake up from a dream. It was very very real.

So I wake up to the indescribably beautiful fact that I did not drink, all is well, my partner beside me, nothing to hide or play charades about. No reason to tease out of people how they “feel” about last night, how mad are they, how bad was I?

OMG...I feel like the luckiest person alive right now. Getting ready for first cup of coffee on the morning after my first truly and completely sober Thankgiving.

I made it but I did eat multiple pieces of pie

bim, I bought an extra turkey which I offer to you in spirit. . .

My local store had marked down the fresh ones to 50 cents a pound and I could not resist.

I roasted, ate, and packaged one yesterday, and must do the other one today, so I made quite a lot of work for myself,
but I love love love turkey and will make up little lunch bentos with this and eat through January,
so I know what you mean about loving leftovers. . .

Did I mention the entire pumpkin pie I ate by myself on Tuesday? Yeah, did that. I won't even justify it by saying it was a small one. Oops. I just did.

So... there's that.

*edit, I think I'll go look for some cheap turkey today. Must have leftovers, thanks Hawk.

H&S, I've never taken Wellbutrin, but have you talked to your doctor about getting off them? I know you have been taking more than your prescribed dosage, and a lot of ADs need to be weaned off.

I'm worried you will not feel stable and end up drinking. I would fill that Rx and talk to your doctor honestly about your use of them.

Good afternoon from London. The boss is at a meeting away from the office and will not be coming back today, it is payday and many folks went down the pub. It is anarchical here now. The Nerf guns have been taken out. Home time soon.
