14 days done .
 

14 days sober going on the rest of my life one day at a time!


I have 14 days sober and starting on day 15.
two weeks ago I never thought I would take a sober breath again. I was miserable and defeated.
I got a call from my doctor's office on Oct 31 with scary news about my blood sugar and my liver enzymes. So somehow I found a way to get day one and then day two.
I have been a chronic relapser and have so many day ones I no longer keep track.
I feel so much better today than I did before I quit. I feel like there is a little bit of hope for me.
I am not much for giving advise but I will say to any of you who are trying to get and stay sober. Please read and post here and listen to what all of these good helpful and supportive people have to say.

I posted this on Oct 27th I think it paints a pretty clear picture of how defeated I was feeling.

I hate this disease of alcoholism.
I hate that it has stolen my self respect.
I hate that is has robbed me of all hope.
I hate it has robbed me of any and all dignity.
I hate how it cost me my successful business.
I hate how it has taken people that I have loved.
I hate how it has made me become a hermit.
I hate how it has robbed my health.
I hate how I look in the mirror when I dare to look.
I hate how much power it has over me.
I hate how it has made me hate my life.
I hate how it has robbed all joy from my life.
I hate how pathetic it has made me.
I hate how I can’t stop.
I HATE ,HATE, HATE THIS DAMN DISEASE.

Thanks to you all for helping me stay sober one day and minute at a time.
