I slipped

I was doing so well. Had a few weeks sober, and was beginning to workout again too.

My long-time buddy just got out of the Navy, and was back in town asking me to go out. He was talking about the veteran's day discounts he was getting. Cut our tabs in half. It started on Saturday, and I'm still winding down from it with some whiskey. I need to stop, and not go back out to the liquor store. I just went to meet him for a burger, but the night got out of control. He introduced me to a girl, and that's just a trigger for me to go off right there...

Do any of you have bands or music that can make you think about drinking? I swear, I don't know what it is... but if you play Black Sabbath on the juke box at a bar. I am done. Such a weird phenomenon.

I don't know, I just messed up. Had to spit it out. Hopefully acknowledging it, gets me back on track.

I slipped on Friday and Saturday I'm trying to figure out what triggered me. I was sober 43 days and now on day 2 starting over.

glad you were able to make it back.
i had to back off my music genre for a while when i first got sober, and sure as hell wasnt gonna go to a bar for ANYTHING. that would have been 100% insane and going to a bar would have been pre meditating a drunk

now that ive been sober a while, i can crank up any of my favorites, sabbath, ozzy, metallica(who i saw in concert back in july), NIN,maiden,motorhead........ ANY music and it doesnt bother me TODAY.
but not in early recovery- i dropped pretty much all music until i got my melon straightened out- looked at causes and conditions alcohol was just a symptom of and worked and changing me.
