4 months

Guys, I'm delighted to announce that I hit the 4 months mark yesterday! In the tradition of SR, the intention is not to gloat or brag, but to confirm that it's a whole lot better without the booze.
If I can be of any help to newcomers regarding these first 4 months and what my challenges were, please go ahead and ask!

And many thanks to this community, I couldn't have done it without you!

Congratulation!
How inspiring to see you get four months and your willingness to help others.
Keep it up. Best to you and many more sober days.

Great job Mac on your four months! And I don't think there's anything wrong with tooting your own horn when you've done something you can be proud of. 😀

That's fantastic! You have every reason to be proud.
What helped you the most to get to this point?

FL,
What has helped me the most is educating myself here on SR. Before SR I had never heard of expressions such as kindling or PAWS, nor how to properly develop a recovery plan or how to deal with cravings.
During the first couple of weeks after I had stopped I had only a vague idea of what I actually needed/wanted to do, whereas now I have much more clarity regardings the road that I need to take, thanks to all the people here that share their stories and their knowledge.
Life is good!

Brilliant job, Mac, and you are spot on about the education that we get on here.
I didn't even know I was an alcoholic until I came to SR.
Thanks for posting.
