Made the effort, but no meeting!

I'd been looking forward all day to a women's meeting that's open to kids. Rushed dinner and got my kids in the car and went where the meeting was supposed to be - and there was no one! So bummed.

I'd suggest calling the AA hotline and asking about the meeting. Tell them what happened. Maybe it meets at a different place now. Or a different time. Don't give up. :)

I'm glad you checked in here anyways. :)

There will be other meetings. At least you made the effort to attend. When I can't/don't feel like a meeting I come here.

I had that happen once. Almost held a meeting by myself.
It was in the AA schedule book, but when I got there. No one.
Boy did I feel like a drunk when I asked a random guy in the building where the meeting was and he said, "Huh?. Never mind.
You've gotten good advice above. Try, try, try again!

Meeting locations change, and booklets and computer searches may not reflect that.
Hang in there!

Also, recovery sites will post meeting places and times, but they don’t update their info.
This happened with my Al-Anon home group.
We moved twice in two years—unwelcome at a formerly welcoming church, and a temporary location at an AAclubhouse that no one really liked—and we had the hardest time with people going to the old location because they saw it on a recovery site.

Most area sites are locally run with many keeping things up to date, and others that haven't been updated in years. May want to call the hotline number to make sure the times/dates are correct, but thumbs up for making the effort to go!

I feel you. This has happened to me numerous times.
