Weekenders Thread November 9-12: Get Unstuck
Great thread this week--I'm enjoying "catching up" with you all.
Nice to see you posting LBrain--how did the landscaping project come out
in the end?
Care to share a few photos?
Just did another power hike and made an amazing batch of chili yesterday
which I'm reheating to chili perfection this moment, whilst chugging
my mug of hot chocolate--guilt free, as I order the disks from a baking supplier
and they are 99% organic cacao bought in fair trade.
No sugar needed--not bitter, just pure chocolate enjoyment.
So very delicious I get them in 22 pound bags, and repackage to share
and store for any decadent moment.
I put some in the chili too--my "hidden mole" as it were.
Here's a link to the company in case anyone is interested:

Squash! I used to play alot in in my 20's. A buddy owned a gym that had two courts. I still have my racket, glasses and some balls. Tho the balls are probably rock hard, the strings on my racket brittle and the elastic shot on the glasses having sat in storage for 20 years. I don't hang onto much stuff but I always thought I'd play squash again one day.....
Came down with a wicked headache this afternoon. First one since January. I tried to sleep it off but it would not let up. I finaly gave in and took an ibuprofin around 8pm. Now it's gone. Don't know why I was so stubborn and refused to take anything.....
Sober since October

Hi, weekenders.
I slept in again, but not as much as yesterday.
My gym session is at 5 p.m. so I can chill with my coffee.
Hawkeye - Love your chocolate. Shame I am located too far to order from this company.
Dragon - Glad your headache is gone.
Bimini - I am with other weekenders - where are you?!!!
See you all)

Morning guys. I'm shattered.... one of my junior P' s was out until very very late...... at a memorial evening last night. I had spent most of yesterday doing college work and had hoped for an early night. I waited up and for junior P and I'm glad I did as love and hugs were needed. Just soooo tired this morning. And I will have to get up soon to run juniour to work before carrying on with assignment... I got about 500 words done ...1500 to go! It's a slow process.... and then the references...well they take ages to find! Anyway best get up and get some coffee. Hugs guys.xx

Hi, Petals.
Sorry about your rough night.
As cliche as it sounds - one step at a time. Focus on the task right in front of you.
As for references. I do a lot of research and writing. And a few months ago I discovered software (it's basic but quite comprehensive version is free) Citavi. It requires a little bit of learning curve, but it saved my sanity already.
You can type the paper/article name in the search bar and it finds all the credentials and put it in the appropriate reference form. It has Word extension and it's awesome.
Enjoy your coffee)

That software sounds like a real find, MB.
Petals, best luck. You can get through this. You are a good parent, too.
Sorry if it sounds like gloating, when others are running short...but I slept like a rock last night! I’ve had a rough run with sleep lately, and now a few good nights feel like new life.
Coffee brewing, Mom is still in her bed. I have doubts that she will be up for going to church, but I wanted to be ready to facilitate if she does. She is housebound, unable to drive, so...you know.

Hey Hey Hey ,
hope you are all getting through sober , you can start your day over anytime you like , drop resentments .
Sleep is a difficult thing for me , i've had undiagnosed sleep apnoea for years and have got treatment in the last few months so i'm slowly feeling more human but the machine takes some getting used to .
I hope that weight will be lost but it takes time and effort, i sometimes feel like the King of Rohan from the lord of the rings film .. all grey and sat in my chair !
Winter makes me squirrely , so i'm planning to move nearer the equator in 10 years or so when retirement might be an option , gardening and a swimming pool and no frost will be sublime
keep on .

Hey, mecanix!! Always good to hear your voice. I am just beginning to look ahead to what retirement might be like. Awesome dreams you have there of a warm place with a pool and a spot for year round gardens. I can almost feel it, so it must be a picture that would mean a lot to me, too. I don't believe a geographical move is in the cards for me, though. Ive finally consolidated family where i am...busy caring for the aging...some kind of grand-relatives will be coming along eventually, and I will miss my own age-window for a move, I reckon.
So I keep trying to make peace with winter and the cold that haunts every cell of my body in the darkest months. Brrrr!

Good morning, all! Up at 7 AM (on a Sunday!). [edit: today is Sunday, isn't it?]
Had potatoes (steak fries) and tuna salad for breakfast, followed by iced tea.
Going out to buy kitty litter on sale (two for one) -- I've reached that age where I appreciate these little bargains and feel like I'm getting away with something by taking advantage of them. Maybe I should also pick up a cane to shake at the kids.
P.S. -- hoping that Bimini has just decided to move in with the eagles or something like that.

Bix - Glad you had a good sleep. I started taking melatonin about a week ago because I was almost sick from insomnia, and it improved the situation considerably. A good sleep can work miracles.
Mecanix - What a treat to hear from you! I also dream about some warmer place to live and I do hope I will make it reality before the retirement)
Solarion - Yes, it's Sunday. How do I know? No boxing today Just weightlifting)
Time to make plans for the upcoming week.
See you.
